"I cannot even be myself or know who I am" Eva Hesse

After gaining an honours degree in fine art I have spent the last 8 years working in magazine design; over which time I have found myself with less and less time to spend painting. Towards the end of 2000 I decided to leave my job and started to build my life around my art. Much of my current work is concerned with exploring feeling through colour form and rhythm in nature; primarily through flower studies. I want to convey the beauty and intricacy of even the smallest parts of a flower; the curve of a stem, the fold of a leaf or petal; which are so often overlooked in our increasingly busy and commercially orientated world. Ultimately, I strive to create an image which will have beauty and intimacy and will inspire the viewer.
